The Next Decade of Women, Peace and Security: Consolidating National Action, Regional Collaboration, and Global Accountability.

Commemorating the 26th Anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325.

Hosts: Republic of Namibia, WPS-HA Compact, UN Women, African Union, Norway, Italy, the Philippines, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP)

Twenty-six years following the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), more than 250 Signatories have joined the Compact on Women, Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action (WPS-HA Compact) representing Member States, regional organizations, UN entities and civil society including women-led peacebuilding organizations, youth networks, academia, and the private sector.

As the global security landscape reflects an increase in armed conflicts with 756 million women and girls living within 50km of active conflict, the WPS agenda continues to provide an avenue to strengthen multilateralism to advance inclusive sustainable peace and humanitarian action that is responsive to the needs of women and girls.

As Chair of the Board of the WPS-HA Compact, Namibia, in partnership with Compact Signatories and UN Women, will convene a forward-looking dialogue to identify clear pathways to consolidate national action, regional collaboration, and global accountability to guide the next decade of WPS implementation.

The dialogue will also address the role of the WPS-HA Compact and Signatories in advancing women's leadership and meaningful participation through prevention, solidarity, support, and action to enable peaceful societies that positively impact the lives of women, girls, and entire communities.
